Newport Town Hawks FC Vs Toddington Rovers

The rain held out thank god, a little windy but did not stop us from getting stuck in from the off. Admittedly Toddington Rovers are a big club with 180 members starting from the age off 4, so we knew we were in for a right game.

During the first ten minutes we played like a real team that had been together for years, Connor opened the scoring with a great goal one on one with the Toddington Keeper, then five minutes later Connor scored the second. Some great tackling by Sid and DIZZY (Kieren) at the back and some fantastic link play between Tyrese and Connor too.

In the second ten we changed the team around to allow Taylor, Harry, Emilio and Patrick to come on, our concentration lacked a little which allowed Toddington Rovers through to score two fantastic goals to level the game,
Fraser who referred the game had to have a couple of quiet words with both teams players for harsh tackles.

Third half saw Toddington go in front with a great goal and mad the score 3-2, Liam came on to make a little impact to the game and scored a great solo goal, 3-3.
Toddington had played some great football to hold us to 3-3 at the end of the third.

Totally changed the team around to what we had played with in the first ten, again some great football passing and a goal keeper change were Paul come out on field and Liam went in goal, he made some really good saves to stop Toddington taking a lead and the win.
Tyrese took a shot from 15yards out to see his shot go in the bottom corner 4-3, 4 minutes later Tyrese added a second to his tally to make the score 5-3 and secured our second win of the season, all players have improved massively and really are becoming a good sporting team.
