Luke Gardner has this week signed a 12 month contract to play for Northampton Town’s U10 Academy side. Luke has played for NPTFC for the past 18 months in his favoured central midfield position and has progressed enormously during his time playing for the team. Last season he finished the season with 10 goals to his name, he was hugely influential in the way the Tigers played and ended up with the Managers Players accolade at the end of season presentation.
Luke made his debut in a trial game for Northampton a few weeks back against Arsenal (the team who he supports), in which Northampton came away with a draw, with Luke scoring a goal!
Luke becomes the 2nd player from this team who has signed for a professional clubs academy side, after Toby Herdman-Smith signed for the MK Dons last season.
Everyone from the U10 Tigers and the club as a whole would like to wish Luke all the best for his future football career. Luke is a great lad who will be missed hugely, but he knows he will always be welcome back to play for NPTFC!
Good Luck Luke,
Cheers,
Owen Brown
U10 Tigers Manager / Youth & Nursery Chairman
