We offer a clear development path to a well run and coached senior set up, with real progression through the age groups a possibiliSty. Our senior team plays in the F.A. The under 18's also won the County Cup and we are proud of the success of our teams although winning is not everything, it can inspire confidence.

We believe in football for all, regardless of ability so if you love the game as much as we do and you want to join us then please contact John Cassidy (NPTFC Football Development) on 07736 170000 or john@general-wireless.eu.

We will be holding open trials in June (13th & 27th), July (11th & 25th) and August (15th & 29th) so bring your boots and show what you can do. You don't have to wait until the trials to make contact though, give us a call now.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Newport 4 v 0 Marlow - Report by Manager Matt Goodier

We went into this game with some trepidation as Marlow were an unknown quantity this season being top of 2nd division and having beaten Denham (top of division 1) 5 - 1 in the semi final.
Conditions were not great with it being so hot and the pitch being a dust bowl and having a delayed kick off, my main concern was keeping the team out of the sun and focused on the task ahead.
Spectator confidence rose during the warm up we'll leave it to Riley to comment on that one.

1st half saw a closely contested game although we had far more scoring opportunites, Marlow always looked dangerous on the break but "Team D" had it covered
Deadlock was broken in the 32nd minute when Sammy D smashed in a loose ball from just outside the 18 yard box giving us a half time 1-0 lead.
2nd half saw much of the same for the first 20 minutes until Vinnie ran on to a through ball and took it round the keeper and
slotted it home from a tight angle. Daisy put the game out of Marlow's reach 2 minutes later having just come on as a sub and for me was the goal of the game when she chased down a defender to win the ball took on the rest of the defence and slotted home.
Frog scored the 4th in the 75th minute getting on the end of a through ball and nutting the keeper (Riley, Thorpey are we allowed to say that?)
Well done to all the team great performances all over the park.
A massive thanks to all that came and supported us on the day we won the battle on the terraces as well as the pitch.

Team: Roni Gommon, Natalie Keefe, Laura Sterry, Samantha Dawson, Natalie Robinson, Alex Saulter, Toni Petts, Christine McGee, Lauren Goodier, Leanne Lewis, Daisy Farrugia, Rachel Thomas, Nisha Denton.

19th March - The national Russian Ladies team recently trained at Willen Road in preparation for there game against England.

28th December - A message from the Chairman

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.

This year has been a large and difficult learning curve for my-self and the Committee and I would like to thank everyone who is involved in the drive to take the Club forward.

We hope to have the new stand in place for next season thanks to sponsorship. We hope to make alterations and improvements to the club facilities where we can. I hope that we have your support for the Dinner Dance on the 29 th January 2007 and any other fun and fundraising events that the entertainment committee can organise. Also, don't feel shy about getting involved in helping organise any fun event at the club you feel might benefit us all. This club runs for and is for the benefit of the members both on and off the field.

At the time of writing this the 1 st team are unbeaten in December and sitting 7 th in the League, we have played more games than anyone else, but points in the bag are better than a build up of fixtures.

The hard work and team building that we are striving to achieve is starting to pay off, the lads are playing well and securing points when last season we may have suffered from lack of experience, now we are starting to hold our own and play the way that Terry and the coaching team want (even if they do still give us the occasional moment of anxiety).

The reserves which are a young side are learning fast and doing well in the Suburban League. Currently sitting 9 th in a very competitive and strong league at Christmas is testament to the players and coaches. Players from the side are regularly given the chance to play in the 1 st team, those that seize the opportunity to impress have and I can see that there are a number of players that will be pushing hard for positions in the New Year.

The U18's continue to show the quality that this club has through the senior sides. They currently top their league, well done and keep it up. This shows that we have some great lads and they will be instrumental in the continued development of the Club.

The Ladies senior side are having a great season as well. They are currently sitting 2 nd in the league, this is a major accomplishment in a very difficult and experienced league. They are through to the semi-finals of the league cup and recently beat Reading Ladies 1 – 0 to reach the semi-finals of the County Cup . Well done and keep going ladies.

I would also like to wish all the Management, Coaching and Playing Staff all the best for the New Year from myself and the Committee, keep the great work up everyone and we will achieve the ambitions we all share.

26th July - Newport Pagnell Town Ladies FC

This was our first year as a ladies team and it was a huge step up from playing youth football and with a side that has an average age of 16 we struggled at the start of the season to compete with some of the more established teams, although in our first ever competitive game as a ladies side we managed to beat Mr Egan's finest eleven 3-1 in the FA Cup (The Met Police ladies team). Unfortunately we played Oxford in the league next game who stuffed us 10-0, which knocked the stuffing out off us a bit. We struggled on till Christmas only winning a hand full of games.

The New Year saw us somewhat revitalized, the girls suddenly had some belief in themselves and we ended the season in style.

We got through to the semi final of the county cup, losing to Reading Royals who play in the Southern Prem (one div below Arsenal)

We got to the league plate final where we beat Chesham 5-2 (A team that had beaten twice in the league before Christmas)

We finished the season on a 14 game undefeated run, which included beating Oxford 3-2 (The only team to beat Oxford all season)

I think you will all agree it was quite a turn around and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the girls for this great achievement and for showing such great strength of character.

We look forward to the new season and have a very strong chance of winning the league this year and let's hope we can take our undefeated run to the end of the season.

At the end of the coming season we are planning a tour to America where we will play in a tournament and have a friendly against the yanks. In order for this to go ahead the team will be working hard to raise the money needed to go, so please support them when the opportunity arises. If there is anyone would like to sponsor the team or get involved in any way please give me a ring 07738547137.

Finally I would like to wish Terry and the boys all the best for the game tonight and for the coming season.

26th July - Youth Development within the club

Hello All,

This is the first time I've had to write any programme notes and I'll apologise now if I go on a bit! I have recently taken over the role of Head of Youth Development within the club, having been Head of Nursery Football for the past 2 years I had no hesitation when I was asked to step up and over see all aspects of Nursery and Youth football at the club.

I believe that the younger players have a big role to play in the success of this club and am very excited by some of the young talent we have progressing through the ranks.

The management team of the senior set-up have also proved they will put faith in the

youngsters when at the end of last season 15 year old Drew Mitten broke the record for the youngest ever goal scorer in the UCL!

As well as the talented players we have at our disposal, we are fortunate enough to have some excellent coaches and managers in our ranks. All of our managers have a genuine love of football, and let's face it there are not many better ways to spend a weekend, than on the sidelines of a football pitch watching all of our training methods click into gear in a match situation! There are a lot of people at this club who put in an enormous amount of effort behind the scenes, to make sure that all of our players can enjoy playing their football in a safe secure environment, and make days like today, (when for the third year running we have our local professional club coming over and playing us in a pre-season friendly), possible.

Thanks go out to the MK Dons, for coming over and playing us today. As a club we have a good relationship with the Dons. Since their arrival in Milton Keynes (and change of name), we have had a number of our young players scouted and successfully make the transition into the MK Dons Academy sides, and lets not forget that without the hard work and effort put in by many people at our club this would not have been possible. There was a lot of negative press and anger directed at MK Dons move from Wimbledon , I personally think it is great! We now have professional football on our doorstep (which we can go and watch whenever “The Swans” are away!), the talented young footballers of Milton Keynes can now play for a local club, and let's not forget about the fantastic new stadium that is being built just a few minutes away! Good Luck to all involved with the Dons for the coming season…….But I hope you lose this evening!

Thanks everyone for coming and taking the time to read this, and please do not forget that the bar is open so go and get yourself a nice cold drink (or 2)!

Cheers,

Owen Brown

Head of Youth Development

26th July - Captain's Corner

We move into the 2006-2007 season on the back of a fairly solid campaign last year.

A strong finish to the season, with a six game unbeaten and clean sheet run meant that our league position was improved, and resulted in deserved monthly League awards for the gaffer and Joe in goal. It was also encouraging as captain to see the whole team working so hard and the things we had been working on all season starting to come together.

One of the most promising aspects of last season was the clubs development of youth players and the introduction of them into the first team set-up. Players like Elliot, Martin, Drew, Rob MacDonald and Scotti all showed some of their potential and appear to be very exciting

talents for the future and I look forward to playing alongside them this season. Another 20+ goal season from Vinny will also help as his contribution last year was invaluable.

Pre-season has been tough as we're all looking to get the fitness levels back up, but as games go by the squad is looking sharper and stronger and we look forward to the league and cup season to hopefully realise the potential we have been showing. It has again been encouraging as a captain that some of the more senior players like Rich, Riley, Tinsley, Ramscar and Fletch have been setting good examples in training and matches, which provides a good influence for the younger players. Its also great to welcome back Tom Hill, as after a bad injury last season he seems to be coming back with renewed enthusiasm and his undoubted ability will obviously strengthen the squad.

I would just like to emphasise my disappointment at missing the MK Dons game for 2 nd

consecutive season, as it's a game I would love to have played in. It is a great opportunity for the Newport boys to pit themselves against professional opposition and I have no doubt that the players we have in our squad will give a good account of themselves. It would be great to come back with the knowledge that the club had won the inaugural Marshall Trophy, and hopefully the first of many pieces of silverware we win this season!!

Come on the Swans!!!!!!

John Thorpe

Club and 1st Team Captain.

26th July - Welcome to the new season

The Reserves and U18's will once again be run as one squad for the coming season building on the experiences gained from last season. The Reserves for the coming season have moved out of the United Counties League, and have been accepted into the Suburban League, which is effectively a reserve league predominately for Southern and Ryman league clubs. I feel this is a big step forward for the club and will reallyhelp develop further the younger players.

Last season it was very satisfying that the reserve team held there own despite fielding a very young side, which consisted of 7 or more U18 players on a regular basis. The experience gained will certainly put them in good stead for the coming season. The most pleasing aspect however, was the fact that 5 x U18 players featured in the 1st team at some point. I'm sure that more will make the step up this season.

The U18 side will be playing its 3rd season in the Southern Counties Youth Floodlit League, which is a very good quality competition for young players, they will also be playing in the FA Youth Cup, the Eastern Junior Cup for the 1st time, the Colwyn Youth Cup as well as theLeague Cup. The high point of last season was that we improved greatly in the last third of the season with a side that consisted of a number of U16 players, this included a run to the Semi-Finals of the Colwyn Youth Cup where we knocked out Hemel Hempstead 2-1 and the performance of the season where we won 4-0 at Conference South club Histon before we lost narrowly 2-1 in the Semi-Final at Cheshunt. Hopefully with the vast majority of last seasons squad still available we will continue to progress and push more players forward into senior football.

26th July - Shreives's Shout

Good Evening Ladies and Gents and welcome once again to all from the MK DONS to Willen Road.

Now about our pre-season and today's match, so far we have had a great turn out with a few new players arriving at the club and with everyone staying from last season we are looking quite strong.

The Younger players are looking stronger and more confident plus with the groundwork in place from last season expectation is even higher for the forthcoming campaign.

We started a bit earlier this season and everyone seems keen, with new players arriving and lads coming back from injuries there's a lot of competition for places. We will see if we have progressed in the last year with what happens today.

Enjoy the game today and wish Martin Allen and his team all the best for the season. Make your voices heard and cheer the lads on, your support is greatly appreciated.

Terry Shrieves

1st Team Manager
Newport Pagnell Town FC.

26th July - A word from the Chairman

Hello and welcome to Willen Road the home of ‘The Swans'. I hope you enjoy this evening as we host our annual game against the MK DONS. This year we have named the game the ‘ Marshall 's Cup' thanks to the generous support of Marshall 's Amplification.

I have recently taken over as Chairman at the club and I am very proud of all the people who are involved in trying to make this club successful. The Club is moving in the right direction both on and off the pitch.

On the pitch we have retained a large number of the players from last season and have added a further mix of experience and youth to strength the squad. We are optimistic that we can improve on last year's final position in the league. In the future we hope that the club policy of encouraging youth and mixing it with seasoned players will enable us to challenge at the top of the table and gain promotion.

Off the pitch we have the continued support of our main sponsor Waterline Plc, they have been involved in the club for many years and as they have grown and been successful in business so has their commitment to the club. We also

continue to enjoy the valuable support of Brian Curries Ltd without which we could not travel to our away games; the mini bus is well used and appreciated. This year we have attracted more businesses that are supporting us with pitch side boards and programme advertising. All of these businesses are a very important part of the Club and without them we could not survive or plan for the future.

To our guests I hope that you enjoy this evening and that for the season ahead you bounce straight back and gain promotion, which you continue to go from strength to strength. I believe that your Club is good for the City and I hope that one day we can be up there with you.

Thank you all for coming this evening.
